SONGE lab

From the very beginning of the adventure, the desire to take the opposite view of fashion as we know it is very present, with the will to give a second breath to this industry. The choice of a responsible production was imposed by selecting French workshops with a specific know-how and where our pieces rub shoulders with those of the most beautiful French luxury houses, for all the production of clothes & accessories, and more recently European for our Denim line made in Portugal. A positioning that responds to personal values but also to your expectations, those of a reasoned consumption by offering you a more qualitative fashion, more artisanal and closer to its customers.

"From the very beginning of my brand, it seemed essential to me to propose collections of clothes made in France, to allow my customers to consume in a fairer way, more in line with today's concerns. Thanks to the wonderful French workshops that have been specialising in making clothes for generations, with whom we have been working hand in hand for six years now, this wish has been fulfilled.- Nathalie

A logical choice, which allows us to promote and use local know-how without making our pieces travel thousands of kilometers before reaching your dressing rooms. The choice of proximity, in the whole SONGE lab production line, from the choice of our fabrics to the delivery, through the production and our daily exchanges with you.

The creation of our pieces

From the moment Nathalie imagines them to the moment they are put on sale during the monthly capsule collections, the pieces pass through the hands of Morgane, our stylist/model maker, who gives them life through the creation of the canvases, and our workshops, which create the prototypes for adjustments before the final production.

A short production cycle made possible thanks to the know-how of our partners who have been with us since the beginning of the adventure, and in accordance with the respect of our values, the environment and the beautiful fingers of fairies who make sure that our pieces arrive at your home as beautiful as they were imagined.

The sketch,
Of the imaginary that we put on paper

Each model is imagined and designed by Nathalie before coming to life under the fingers of our stylist/model maker. Each detail is put down on paper and the pieces become more precise little by little. To create, Nathalie is inspired by her surroundings, her travels, her desires, the trends or even a fabric or a print, and imagines her ideal wardrobe through the timeless pieces that we love to offer you.

A first pattern is then made so that we can move on to the next step, the creation of the canvas, and see the models in volume for the first time.

To the volume setting

From the sketch, Morgane, our stylist/model maker, materializes the models according to the rules of the art before carrying out the retouching and making the final pattern for the workshops. Depending on the pieces, these are either made by "moulding", by placing the fabric directly on the mannequin with the help of pins, or "flat" where the measurements of the body are transferred to a pattern and the pieces of fabric are assembled together.

The making of the fabric is a crucial step, it gives the final shape to our pieces. Once the fittings, adjustments and modifications have been made, we create the pattern, choose the fabric (if this has not already been done) and make the first prototype in our workshops.

Then from sketch to fabric prototype

As for our final production, our prototypes are made in our workshops to validate the final cut of our pieces. The pieces are tried on, retouched, readjusted before being validated by Nathalie and finally launched into production.

Before being produced in our lovely French workshops

This is the last step, the production carried out in the heart of our workshops by our pretty fairy fingers based in France for all production and in Portugal for our Denim line. Each piece is carefully handmade before being sent to you. Discover the Backstage video of our workshops to learn more!
